One of the quotes that are generally cited by a lot of people is the one which says that in the whole world, change is the only constant. There’s great truth in this quote, especially where technology is concerned and the disruptive impact it’s had on our everyday lives. There are a large number of examples of such firms/technologies, but here I have compiled a number of the businesses which have had an impact far more powerful in relation to the others. All these have actually changed my life and the manner I go about things now. Some of them lead to higher productivity while some of them make it possible for me to do things that was not possible formerly. Here is a look at some of these great inventions I’m referring to.

For anybody who shares files online regularly, you will realize just how frustrating it could be sometimes. Problems often appeared when a file that consists of a few MBs came to syncing files between more than two computers while it is manageable to share via email. Then came Dropbox. It significantly impacted the functioning of small companies and how we organize our private files. Most surprisingly, Dropbox bring down the cost of storage to nearly non existent for the vast majority of us and has disrupted the entire online storage company. There are several other companies like Google, Box and Microsoft who can organize and store files but I prefer Dropbox for its user-friendliness.

Facebook was the only site that truly cemented its position in our daily lives and made social media a requirement for most although social media has now existed for quite some time. Facebook is not without its controversy but its influence is really tremendous that nearly all the World political leaders are including Facebook as a political medium. It is simply an incredible phenomenon to so many of us due to the fact that it lets us connect with numerous our long-lost buddies. As of end of 2014, Facebook boasts of almost a billion users, making its database the largest on the globe. I have always attempted to fathom over that time when each and every person in the world becomes a part of Facebook.

Smartphone has revolutionized many businesses and Cab resembles the next large business which is going to be disturbed. GetTaxi is among the first startups found in this industry. Since then, a number of startups have emerged as well as the list contains UberTaxi and GrabTaxi. With the assistance of GPS locator, such apps try to join taxi drivers with the passengers in a quicker and hassle-free manner. Not stopping there, their programs has advanced features so the fare can shift based on supply and demand, like executing a dynamic pricing model. Now people make extra money and that may drive a few hours a day and have a car can sign-up on those services as a driver.

With increasingly more folks Internet traffic is on its peak and the data rates are going down. SMS or short Messaging System has been with us since the beginning of the cellphones, but another messaging system, Whatsapp had brought it down from its throne. Now, SMS has been interrupted by Whatsapp, from the simple motive that Whatsapp communicate better and more effectively and allows its users to text. Creating a group and broadcasting a message to multiple users with a single touch / click was this difficult. It is a feat which was not possible before the coming of Whatsapp. Facebook in the year 2014 valued at a mind-blowing twenty billion dollars at the time of this revolutionizing company’s acquisition it.
